Learning Activity 3-B-1 Instructions


  1. Read the punctuation lesson presented in Appendix A, p. 216, of Crafting Writers.
  2. After reading the lesson, complete the Writing Try-it as described in a word processing document. If you are not sure what to write about, write about a recent a recent lunch in the teacher's lounge or at school.
  3. Click the Edit tab in the upper-right corner.
  4. Scroll down the page until you see the first empty Try-It space.
  5. Highlight the "Your Name" text.
  6. Type your name.
  7. Highlight the "PasteTry-It here." text.
  8. Copy Try-It from the word processing document and paste it here.
  9. Press Save on the Editor bar.

Remember, if you were to teach this activity in your own classroom students would be writing their responses in a "Try-It" section in their notebooks.
